According to a 2013 WHO report, road accidents are a leading cause of death in India, with over 130,000 deaths in the year alone. We believe that a major reason is the dependence on the human element - namely, requiring bystanders to help report accidents. In effect, automating the reporting process and hence effectively removing the need for witnesses to the scene will help improve outcomes. In this paper, we propose a nextgeneration IoT-enabled system to automate the reporting process, which should help reduce fatalities due to road accidents.
